Inside out and Outside in

with Antigone Gyra

27-28/9/25

A workshop for people with or without experience in dance and movement. It will begin with exercises and games to strengthen the body and the group, and will then explore how everyday movement is a source of choreographic creation. Through this practice, we will see our everyday lives through different eyes and at the same time develop our relationship with the composition and evolution of the kinetic material that our bodies create on their own or in relation to other bodies.

Throughout the action, Anna Tsichli, dramaturg and a constant scientific collaborator of Kinitiras, will make a record so that in the end, notes and photographic material of what was heard or taught will be published in electronic form.

Inside out and Outside in aspires to contribute to a direction of performing arts teaching that cultivates the group skills of the people involved, emphasizes the need to frame and support vulnerable groups within the arts, and supports non-violent communication and tenderness between people.

The title of the activity derives from an exercise that Antigone has been doing in her groups from 1994 to the present day, which characterizes her as a person, an artist and a teacher.

With the support of The J. F. Costopoulos Foundation, Antigone Gyra is offering to professionals and amateurs of the performing arts workshops, lectures and screenings based on the methodology of movement that she has developed through her practice and continuous study and training over the last 30 years.
